A Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) is defined as

The Department of Defense (DoD) has undertaken an outreach effort to improve prime and subcontracting opportunities for veteran and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. The Defense Department is committed to make the maximum practicable prime and subcontracting opportunities available to such firms.

A Service-Disabled Veteran is a person who served in the active US military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, and whose disability was incurred or aggravated in line of duty in the active military, naval, or air service.
